Laughter Returns: Sidhu and Archana Co-Judge The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3

Navjot Singh Sidhu returns to The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 as co-judge alongside Archana Puran Singh.

Netflix’s popular comedy talk show The Great Indian Kapil Show returns for its third season on June 21. This season’s long-awaited return features a nostalgic twist with the former cricketer and original “laughing king”, Navjot Singh Sidhu, back in the judge’s chair alongside Archana Puran Singh, the established “laughter queen” who has been in the mix since Season 2. This is the first time Sidhu and Singh will be judging together, something fans have been wishing for.

Sidhu returns to the show after a hiatus of almost five years. He left the show after some controversy in 2019, and Archana took over as his permanent replacement.

In a funny promo on Netflix, Kapil surprises Archana with Sidhu’s return. The old magic comes back as Sidhu flashes in with his signature shayari and loud laughter, leaving Archana comically floored.

Season 3 adds the dynamic of Kapil Sharma hosting, with Archana and Sidhu as judges (a creative “two‑judge comedy court”). Kapil Sharma exclaims, “We assured that every Funnyvaar our family would grow, so I’m so happy to have Sidhu paaji with Archana ji…. where jokes and laughter now become triple.”

Sidhu confirms return is special: “Coming back on The Great Indian Kapil Show feels like coming home again. It is a home run for me. Fans wanted to see me more.”

The media and fans questioned if Archana would be replaced, but the promotions and statements made by Netflix make clear they will both co-judge. The return of Sidhu was a “gift” to Archana, highlighting Netflix’s sentiment to reinforce the host panel rather than replace anyone.

Archana’s chemistry with Sidhu and Kapil was part of the show’s popularity, and having both sides serves to maintain a level of legacy and continuity.

Season 3 shoot has commenced. We have already shot some of the episodes with prominent Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

For its debut, Bollywood megastar Salman Khan steps onto the stage to share the dais with the judges’ trio. Comedians Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek even dressed up as Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, which added even more humor.

The mix of movie stars and sportsmen was a rainbow vision of entertainment, ranging from the glitz of Bollywood to the brotherhood of cricket.

Season 3 is well on its way. Recently filmed episodes show leading Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal. One of the recent episodes featured Bollywood star Salman Khan as a special guest on the stage with the three judges.

Comedians Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek made the audience laugh as they dressed and spoke like Salman and Shah Rukh Khan.

With the combination of film personalities and sports stars, a good diversity of entertainment that ranges from Bollywood glamour to cricket heartiness is assured.

Netflix committed to its promo tagline “Har Funnyvaar Badhega Humara Parivaar” with a bigger host family and more entertainment every week. The expanded judging panel, along with segments that engage with the fans, called Superfans, is part of the plan.

Kapil and his team want to bring the “double the laughter” to families since Sidhu is back and Archana is consistent with her style.

The Great Indian Kapil Show, Season 3, is back, and Sidhu returns to reboot chemistry that has never left our consciousness, while Archana Puran Singh seems to have settled in, like they can’t get rid of her.

With Kapil assuming her original role, and both judges in place, and with a fabulous supporting cast and prominent guests like Salman Khan, Netflix India is attempting to execute bigger smiles and bigger fun.
